Little Godzillas- Marine Iguanas

The seemingly terrifying sea monsters are just marine iguanas. The animals look extremely dangerous, although they appear to be not that scary.

It turns out that their sharp teeth and claws are not used for hunting animals, but for tearing algae from the ground. They only eat sea plants and algae. They live on land but feed in the sea. Despite the environment they live in, they cannot breathe underwater. While hunting, they hold their breath for up to an hour.

During the mating season, they look really spectacular. Males come in rainbow colors to impress females.

Their cooperation with birds is extremely interesting. Mockingbirds warn iguanas with a special sound when they spot a hawk nearby. The hawks hunt iguanas and the warning allows them to find shelter.
